Geoff White

Extract from "The Pirates of Penzance" programme - 2004

Appearing in the Broadway version of The Pirates of Penzance has been an ambition of Geoff's since seeing it originally performed at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and he hopes that you enjoy the swashbuckling tale as much as he has over the years. His interest in music began at the age of ten when he joined the choir of All Saint's Church, Weston, where he is still a member today. In the last two years his experience in musical theatre has been used in the church where he appeared in their outreach productions of Godspell and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Geoff considers himself fortunate to have enjoyed many principal roles with BLOG and his recent performances have included Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, Bill Sykes in Oliver, Bobby Child in Crazy for You and Bill Snibson in Me and My Girl. He has been nominated for and has won, the Rose Bowl Award for Best Actor in a Musical, and would like to thank all those involved in those productions as these would not have been possible without such a great team effort.

Other recent performances include Noises Off and Uproar in the House with the Bath Phoenix Players, Frame by Frame for Lauren Productions, soloist with the GBH Big Band and concerts with Medley and Weston Harmony who raise money for local charities.

When not rehearsing, Geoff is a keen sportsman, enjoying particularly football and cricket where he plays for Southstoke CC. His `day' job is with the NatWest Bank and his new-found skill of sword-fighting will come in handy with any awkward customers (unless they are orphans!).
